"Caspian," DSH, Blue, Sacramento - Found!

I received this email three days after the search, saying that Caspian had been found!

Jackie,

Thank you for sending this GPS map. 

Fortunately, Caspian was returned home yesterday. He was under an apartment building about 6 blocks away and jumped out toward someone around 11am. Since he still had is collar on with my contact information, the person called me and I picked him up. Except for having lost weight, he appears to be in good shape and acting normally. 

Good to have him back.

Thank you for all your hard work to help find Caspian. It was invaluable!

Search details:

Caspian is an indoor/outdoor, neutered, 14 year old, male all grey DSH. He is wearing a collar with ID tags and he is microchipped. 

He was last seen by his person at 11 PM. When he did not come by the next morning, he person started looking for him. 

He was missing for two weeks when I was called. 

After doing a perimeter check, we found a track leading out away from the neighborhood. Within a short distance, it was clear that Caspian had been picked up somewhere in his neighborhood. His person said that he was friendly toward strangers and would approach them on the street. Also, Caspian  was last seen on a Wednesday at 11 PM, and the trash cans are picked up on Thursday, meaning that many cans are put out Wednesday evening before people go to work. Sacramento has a very large transient population, and Caspian's person said that she did regularly see people going through the recycling cans when they are put out for trash pick up. 

We followed the track throughout Sacramento and after four hours, Caspian's person called off the search. She said she would continue to look for him. 

I did recommend keeping up flyers in her neighborhood for several blocks in each direction since Caspian could return to the area, if he was able to get loose.
