"Ricky," Shib Inu mix, Foster City

Found!!!!!!

I got a text late yesterday that Ricky had been found in the area we were all searching the day before. Several people were able to corner him and give him food and he stopped enough to allow them to catch him!

Ricky is a one year old Shiba Inu, recently adopted from a rescue who brought him over from North Korea. He is very shy and undersocialized.

He was being walked by his people near their home when he got spooked by something and pulled out of his collar.

When I arrived for the search, I was told that Ricky had been spotted the previous night at midnight by a person walking their dog.

While we were in the area for 4 hours, there were multiple sittings of of Ricky in the area, including by his people and kids riding their bikes.

"Nike," Bengal Cat, Mill Valley

Nike is an indoor outdoor three year old Bengal cat. She was let out in the afternoon but she didn't come back. There has not been any sightings but her collar was found about a half mile away.

We started the search at the location where the collar was found.  We checked the area around the lumber yard and found the direction of the scent leading east on Miller. We followed the track around a couple of blocks and back to Miller. Then it went all the way around Tamalpais high school and the circled back onto Miller and heading back. We stopped the search at 4 hours.

It appears that Nike was picked up and the collar was removed and discarded.

"Lola" Chihuahua mix, Black and white, Woodside

Lola is a 15 year old black and white Chihuahua mix. When she went missing on November 5 from her home, she was wearing a collar with a current ID tag. It is unclear whether she is microchipped since she was adopted over 10 years from an agency in another county. There has been no sightings since she went missing.

She was let out to go potty at around 8 pm with another dog, but 15 minutes later only one dog returned. Immediately a search of the property and the surrounding streets and neighbors properties was initiated, but no one saw where Lola went.

The track we found led down one of the driveways and then turned to the right and down the street. The track turned right after a few driveways into another massive property with hundreds of acres. We followed it all around the property and then out the back on a dirt road. It then connected to a public open space area and then eventually to streets and then all the way to the town of Woodside. The track turned right towards La Honda and then turned right up towards Hubbard Park. The search was called off by Lola's people close to the four hour mark.

They said they would continue to look for her.

"Moshi," Dark Grey DSH, San Leandro - Returned home on her own!

Moshi is a indoor outdoor three year old female, dark grey DSH. She was last seen Sunday evening walking across the street towards her home at about 9 PM. She never came home. We were doing the search that following Wednesday.

She is microchipped but not wearing a collar. There were no sightings of her after she was last seen.

The track we found led away from the house and circled the block and then around the block and out to a busy street. It went up the the busy street, then circled back towards the house. We returned to the area after two hours within less than a block of her home.

Since we were so close to home, her person went home quickly to do something. About 10 minutes later I received a phone call while still tracking that Moshi was home!!! She was there when he got back. Her bowl was empty of food and she had drank a lot of water!!!

"Tofu" White and Tabby, Daly City

Tofu is an indoor only, 10 pound, three year old white with tabby markings DSH.  He went missing sometime after 7 PM on Saturday, September 11 through the front door of the apartment but he was never actually seen leaving, so his person was not aware he was outside. Since there are no other ways out, it is the only option. Once he did not respond to his food the next morning, she immediately started a full search outside, but there were no sightings anywhere in the massive apartment complex.

He is not wearing a collar and is not microchipped.

The track we found led us all around the apartment building and up the steps to the apartment front door several times. Asia finally found the tracking leading out and it went up the hill and out the apartment complex. It then went over six miles to the far northern part of Daly City.

At the 3.5 hour mark, the search was stopped. They said they would continue to look for Tofu and was interested in a second search in the future. I said they could contact me anytime to do a second day.

"Remy" DSH, Orange Tabby, Oakland

Remy is an indoor only two year old DSH Orange tabby. He went missing on August 18 from his third story apartment.  It was initially unclear how he got out of the apartment. All the windows still had their screens on. It was known that the back porch door sometimes doesn't stay closed and it was found open in the middle of the night but quickly closed. The drop to the ground would have landed him onto trees and bushes, which would have prevented injury.

He is wearing a collar with tags and is microchipped. The microchip company had been informed he is missing.

We found the track under the porch door and then followed it for over 5 miles in the Embarcadero area of Oakland. The search was stopped at the four hour mark and we walked back. He said he would keep looking for his cat.

There were both indications of Remy either being by himself or being picked up by a human and carried away. His person did confirm that he is friendly towards strangers and would probably approach a person if in need of help.

"Mercy," DLH Grey Tabby, Walnut Creek

Mercy is a three year old, 10 pound DLH brown tabby. She is wearing a collar with ID tag and is microchipped.

She was last seen Sunday July 18 at 9:45 am on her person's camera in her side yard.

There has been no confirmed sightings and Contra Costa Animal Control has been informed she is missing.

Based on the track we found it appears that Mercy was picked up by a person passing through the area and then they passed back again and made a left on Treat Blvd. It is unknown on time frame when the second pass was made, but it does appear that quite a bit of time was spent in the big shopping center and business park at the end of the street. There were many places for resting and going back and forth and all around the centers multiple times.

Also, this person has a second cat that is also missing about two months before Mercy went missing, and, also, no sightings have been noted. In the area a couple of other cats also missing from the area and I saw another flyer inside the shopping center about another cat that is also missing from the area.

"Riley" Black DSH Petaluma

https://strava.app.link/pKRUs539Mhb

Riley went missing on Wednesday July 30 after he was last seen inside his backyard. There is work being done on the home and his people feel the side gate was left open by one of the workers.

Riley is not wearing a collar with tags and is not microchipped.

Riley had cancer diagnosed on his rear right leg a couple of months ago and his people were forced to amputate his leg to save his life. He was remaining on the property following the surgery despite having full indoor outdoor access prior to the surgery.

After going missing he was seen on a camera crossing the street and hanging out in a neighbor's yard. That was the last time he was seen.

See above GPS map for the full search details. Riley is still missing.

"Jessy" Grey and White Tabby/Siamese mix, Alameda

Day One:

https://strava.app.link/e7nyIUYmbgb

Day Two:

https://strava.app.link/4o4kKcZ2mgb

Day One:
Jessy is a two year old spayed female grey and white tabby. She is an indoor outdoor friendly cat. She was last photographed by a camera on the driveway of the home at 6 PM on a Monday. She never came home that night.

She is microchipped, but not wearing a collar.

An extensive search of the neighborhood for several days she has lived in her whole life found nothing. There were no sightings and she hadn't been seen in any of her regular visiting spots nearby.

The search with Asia showed that Jessy had been picked up and carried away probably by a transient/homeless person. Eventually Jessy got away from them and took off. The track showed her wandering around the edge of the water and bay and inlets of Alameda.

The search was stopped at the four hour mark and her person said she would continue to look for Jessy.

The following day Jessy's person contacted Marta Williams, an animal communicator, and Marta confirmed the track we found. She talked to Jessy and said that her person was trying to find her and gave her instructions to try to follow her track backwards to her home.

Day Two:
No new sightings. Started from where we left off the first day and continued to track within Alameda. At one point the track went along the rocky beach and then came back up and over a wall. Asia was a trooper allowing us to lift her up and over the 5 foot wall!

"Gloria," Dachshund, Sausalito

Gloria is a 20 pound Dachshund and went missing on Monday, April 12, at around noon. Her person was in their yard doing yard work and Gloria was sitting nearby in the sun. When she looked up Gloria was not in her previous spot. She started looking for Gloria, assuming she had gone under the deck, which is what she has done in the past.

Despite visits from the local fire department and another contractor with a camera on stick, Gloria was not found under the deck. Several holes were cut in the wood to find her, but still she was not found.

I was called the next day on Tuesday and asked if any search had been done outside the house and I was told no since they believed her to be in the yard. Animal control had not been contacted and no flyers were up. Gloria was microchipped and wearing a collar with ID tags. I suggested they call animal control and the microchip company immediately to report her missing.

Two days later we arrived, and I brought Tacoma and Asia. Tacoma would do the search under the deck and in the yard and Asia would pick up if nothing was found in the yard.

Despite over two hours in the yard and cutting new holes and having Tacoma search the entire yard and under the deck, we didn't find any evidence that Gloria was in the yard. I brought Asia out, had her check the area surrounding the house and she found a track leading away from the house and down the hill toward the marina. Gloria's person did confirm she had not walked Gloria in that area for as long as she can remember. She always drives Gloria in a car anywhere and does not walk in the neighborhood.

After another two hours of tracking we found the track went down the hill and through some neighborhoods, towards a popular local market and then back up and around to a previous location.

The search was stopped at the four hour mark. They said they would continue to search for Gloria outside the house and surrounding neighborhoods.

"NT Sweetie" Tortoise shell Manx, Angwin

NT was being fostered while her person was in hospice. She is 14 years old indoor only and not wearing any ID.

She got out of a window that was slightly open for the other cats in the house. There were no sightings until the morning we arrived, four days after she went missing. NT was spotted on a wildlife camera several blocks away and that person remembered seeing a flyer on her road. NTs person confirmed it was her when the video was sent her.

When I arrived we drove to the home where the camera was. I showed Asia the scent and showed her the area. We also talked to a neighbor and found she had seen NT also that night on her porch, even petting her but had not seen the flyer and didnt know she was lost. Asia picked up the track leading away from the home. We followed the track for four and a half miles around and around the area, crossing and recrossing the track.

At 4 hours the search was stopped and she said she would keep looking. Down the road about a quarter mile was the local fire station.

Two days later I received a call from NTs person that she had been found at the fire station, alive and well!!!

Great job, everyone!!
