"Pippi," Scottish Terrier/Cairn Terrier Mix, Black, San Francisco

_________________________________________________________________________

Search details:

Pippi is a three year old, 13 pound, female, black Cairn Terrier mix. When she went missing she was not wearing a collar and she was not microchipped, but she was wearing a black harness.

Pippi got out of the yard in San Francisco while staying with some friends for a few days while her people were out of town and live in Petaluma. There were a couple of sightings of Pippi later the next day over a mile from where she originally got out. We started the search there.

We did find a track leading out of the area in Diamond Heights/Twin Peaks and we followed it for several miles. It was pretty obvious for over half the search that Pippi was by herself, but by the end it appeared that Pippi was picked up by a human being and walking with them. It was unclear exactly where that occurred since there didn't appear to be an obvious spot, like in other searches where the pick up happens. I explained this to Pippi's people and they did agree that based on what they saw and where we were that it appeared that Pippi was now with a person, compared to the first half where the track went under fences and through small holes and Pippi was definitely walking alone.

As it got closer to getting dark, the search was stopped after several hours. They said they would continue to look for Pippi.
