"Omi," DSH, Tuxedo, Capitola - FOUND!

(My notes: I received the following email several days after our search.)

"Hi, Jackie.

I wanted to let you know that Omi was found and brought home last night. He had made it farther than I could have imagined, all the way to the other side of Santa Cruz, a fifteen minute drive from our house. 

We wanted to thank you and Dino again for the work you did, I believe we would not have found him if your search didn't give us reason to look and advertise in such far off areas. 

I had posted ads on Craigslist for all the little towns we walked to and beyond. The family that found him (they say he showed up in their driveway yesterday evening and they gave him some food and let him inside) said they probably wouldn't have responded to an ad for Capitola as it is so far away and probably would have kept him! 

We're very thrilled to have him home. He's headed to the vet in a bit, he's definitely dehydrated and very skinny but otherwsie looking good. His behavior is a little different (kind of on edge, more docile and weak) but sweet as ever.

Omi is an 11 lb, neutered, six year old, Tuxedo marked DSH with no collar and no microchip. He was last seen on a Monday afternoon around noon by his family. There was a single sighting of Omi by a neighbor down the block. We did our search the following Friday and started the search for the neighbor's front lawn.

We found the track leading around Capitola and into Santa Cruz and back into Capitola. At times it appeared Omi could be by himself, or he could be carried. His family said he was very friendly toward strangers and was seen regularly crossing busy streets.

See the letter above when Omi was found several miles from his home!
