"Bert," Chihuahua Mix, Dark Brown, San Francisco - Found

Today, November 6, 2012, I found out that Bert was found deceased on October 22, 2012. A couple of weeks after he went missing. Here is the link to the blog:

Bert is a seven pound, neutered, black with brown Chihuahua mix. He is wearing a collar with ID tags and he is microchipped. He is a foster dog with Grateful Dogs Rescue.

He was walking with a group of dogs and a dog walker, who was also his foster parent. She walked up to the water fountain and turned to look for Bert and he was gone. There were no sightings of Bert, even after an extensive search of the area by many, many people for many hours. 

We found the track leading away from the water fountain, around the park, out to another parking lot on Skyline and then onto Skyline Blvd. Eventually he crossed Skyline near the Olympic Club, crossed back again near the horse stables, went behind the horse stables, came out near John Daly Blvd, crossed John Daly and continued all the way to Mission Blvd. 

Eventually, he made his way to South San Francisco and was spotted a couple of times in the industrial areas. 

On Day two, we started the search again from a current sighting near an auto repair place. That took us all the way into San Bruno where the track went directly onto the 380/101 freeway from a side road. We were forced to stop the search since there was no way to get onto the freeway to check for additional scent.
