"Pawly," Yorkie/Terrier mix, Vallejo - Found!

Pawly is a four year old, four pound Chihuahua/Yorkie mix. She is wearing a collar with ID tags and is microchipped.

We had a search scheduled for early the next morning when I received a voicemail that Pawley had been found a couple of miles from her home, still running loose.

This is the text I received:
"She must have went through the open space behind our neighborhood. She had to cross two streets and ended up in bushes near a house at the end of a cul de sac next to the open space. A pizza delivery guy was delivering a pizza to that house and spotted her. He and the family tried to get Pawly but she growled. They gave her cheese but it didn't work. Then they gave her water and she came out, but still growled at the man. He called the Benicia PD and they called me. As soon as I got there she ran right to me and I was crying like a baby!"

"Princess," DLH, White, Montara - Found!

I received an email on December 14 that Princess had been found in her neighborhood after being missing for almost two weeks. I did explain to Princess's person to keep looking for her cat in the immediate area, in addition to the surrounding area, since many animals will make it back to the area.

Princess is an indoor/outdoor, eleven year old, spayed, all white, DLH. She is not wearing a collar and she is not microchipped.

She was last seen at 12 midnight by a neighbor in their front yard, and seen by her person at 11:30 pm. She did not come home by the morning, and they started looking for her immediately.

We found the track leading away from the area and south into various neighborhoods and across Highway One to the area of the airport. Her person stopped the search at the five hour mark because of a prior commitment in the afternoon.

"SpaceCat," Tuxedo, DLH, Nevada City

__________________________________________________________

Spacecat is a five year old, indoor only, Tuxedo, DLH. When he went missing, he was not wearing a collar and is not microchipped.

His people were moving into the new house when his carrier came apart and Spacecat ran out of the open garage door and ran out into the open space surrounding the five acres, unfenced property. There were not sightings of Spacecat after he went missing.

We found his track going into the fenced backyard, which was closed when he went missing, but left open for him after he went missing. After it left the yard, it then went into the garage, out the garage and up the driveway and down the only road leading away from the property. From there it went down the road, and then all the way to Highway 20, and then made a left onto the busy road. At that point it was perfectly clear that Spacecat had jumped into a vehicle and was carried out.

We followed the track all the way into Nevada City, through town and up another road, Boulder Drive, and then down all the way to the end of a dirt road, and then it turned around and went back. At this point, the search was called off by Spacecat's person. We drove back home and spoke to one of the painters who were still at the house.

Here are a few scenarios we came up with:
Spacecat went missing on a Saturday. Monday through Friday, there were painters everyday at the house. He could have gotten into one of their cars. One of the painters did confirm she had not been to Nevada City in several months, which is where the track eventually led to, so we know it was not her or her partner. The other painter was not talked to when I was there, so I don't know his story.

There is another set of dwellings that share that same road that passes in front of Spacecat's house, and that is off to the right. If Spacecat was in any of those cars, the track that Dino found leading out, would go in the same direction. Spacecat's person said he would talk to them and see if any of them went to the place in Nevada City, where we found the track go to.

We also talked about any delivers that could have occurred during this time, like UPS, FEDEX or such. Spacecat's person did say they were coming and going during the next few days as they were completing the move, and packages had been delivered while they were not there.

He said he would review all these options and continue to look for Spacecat in a much wider area than they had been previously.

"Teddy," Chihuahua/Terrier mix, Tan, Los Gatos - Found!

Teddy is a 20 pound, neutered, two year old Chihuahua/Terrier cross. At the time he went missing he was not wearing his collar because he pulled out of it after being scared by a loud truck, but he is microchipped. He people describe him as shy and reserved around strangers, but friendly with other dogs.

We went to the location where Teddy was last seen by his person, who was walking him around the large apartment complex. We picked up the track leading out of the complex, and then across the street to a freeway onramp to highway 85. Eventually the track did lead out and then went straight down Winchester Blvd, and then led up and around a variety of streets and neighborhoods.

At the four hour mark, the search was called off by Teddy's people, and they said they would keep looking for him.
