"Miso," Chihuahua, Brown, Oakland

Miso is a 13 year old, 4 pound brown Chihuahua who is microchipped and wearing a collar with ID tags.

She went missing by accident while staying at a dogsitter. There were several possible sightings with other people but no one was able to pinpoint or find these people.

Day #1:

The track we found led away from the house and around Emeryville and Oakland and Berkeley. It did appear based on the track that Miso was being carried by a person around the area where the sightings had been.

Day #2

Day two started at an apartment building where someone saw a person carrying Miso into the building. After getting permission to bring Asia into the building, which was pet friendly, I showed all the floors and entrances and exits to Asia on a "Check" mode. After several minutes, I took Asia back to a middle point and told her "Search." She walked back to a couple of walkways and then out to a courtyard on the ground floor with a playground. She went directly to a back gate that leads out to the street. I had her check a couple more times and each time she went to this same gate. There were cameras there, and Miso's person said she would talk to the apartment management about seeing the camera footage.

Day #3

We started day three where we left on Day #2. We continued to follow the track all the way up Fruitvale and then around Dimond Park and then back down on Lincoln. Search was stopped at 4 hours at Lincoln and Montana. Miso's person said she would continue to search for Miso. It appears that Miso is still being carried by another person.

"Sally," DSH, Black, San Francisco

Sally is an indoor only 12 year old, 9 pound, all black, DSH with a single white spot on her chest. She was not wearing a collar, but she is microchipped and the microchip company has been contacted and updated.

She was let out by accident through a window by a visitor to the home. Sally was seen on a neighbor's camera within the next 30 minutes after getting out. After that, there were no sightings of Sally.

I was able to arrive a week after she went missing, and we found the track that led around the neighborhood and eventually out of the area, crossing Monterey Blvd and then continued straight. The track continued around the area, and headed straight to Alemany, which turns into Mission. The search continued into Daly City, across the county line of San Mateo County.

The search was stopped after four hours by Sally's people. They said they would contact Peninsula Humane Society, who covers all of San Mateo County.

It appears that Sally had been picked up and carried out of the area. The track was very deliberate and continued straight and purposeful out of the area, unlike the track of a lost cat who is wandering around.
