search details:
Shoe is a three year old, 14 pound, indoor/outdoor, white with black DSH. He has extra toes on his front paws, which makes his paws appear very large.
When he went missing he was not wearing a collar, but he is microchipped.
Shoe was last seen by his person inside his yard on Friday evening. He was seen the next day by a neighbor inside the apartment complex at 9AM and at 9 PM the same day by another neighbor. He was also seen Sunday afternoon in the afternoon by the apartment manager. Shoe's person sent out a phone alert to the surrounding neighborhoods, which triggered another sighting of Shoe the following Wednesday morning several blocks away. Shoe's person went to the neighborhood, put up flyers and walked around looking for him, but did not see him.
We came out the following Friday. We started the search from that sighting on Wednesday and we did find Shoe's scent. The track zig zagged around the surrounding area, eventually coming back to same neighborhood, and out again.
The search was stopped at the four hour mark per Shoe's person. She said she would continue to look for him.
My belief is that Shoe was chased out of the area by a loose animal, like a dog or big raccoon. Shoe was well known in the area, and didn't appear to have any enemies. He had lived in the area for over three years and it appears he always got along with other animals.
