"Moco," Miniature Schnauzer, Silver/White, San Francisco - Found!

Moco was found in Oakland in the home of a person who said she picked up Moco on a nearby beach a few hours after he went missing. Luckily, Moco's flyer was posted in Oakland and this person saw the flyer and called!

Search Details:

Moco is an 18 month old, male Miniature Schnauzer. When he went missing he was wearing a collar with current ID tags and he was microchipped.

Moco was last seen at Fort Funston dog park as he was being walked by his dog walker. For some reason, Moco did not follow his dog walker back to his vehicle. By the time the dog walker noticed Moco missing, and he searched the area for the dog, Moco was no where around.

Moco went missing on the afternoon of Friday, January 24 at around 1 PM. I came to do the search the following Wednesday, January 29th.

There was a possible sighting of Moco, and we were able to confirm that the dog seen was not Moco. The weekend after when Moco went missing, a posting was make to another dog walker's Facebook page about Moco being lost. Another dog walker who lived in the Diamond Heights district of San Francisco saw the post and thought she had seen Moco with another person being walked in her own neighborhood. This information was in turn given to the Moco's person.

At the first part of the search, we went to that possible sighting in Diamond Heights, and I had Dino checked in all areas, but unfortunately, he indicated that there was no scent there. So, we went to Fort Funston and started in the area where Moco was last seen by the dog walker. After extensively showing Dino the area, he picked up on a track leading out of the parking lot, past the ranger station and up onto Skyline Blvd, where the track then went to the left down the hill. We followed the track down the hill, where it eventually went back into another area of Fort Funston.

At this point, Moco's person stopped the search at the four hour mark and said she would continue to look for Moco. He current Facebook page is listed at the top.
